I was first captivated by the cosmos at a young age after my parents bought our family an 8" Dobsonian telescope (which I still have!).  Like many, my first view of Saturn's rings was the sight that sealed my fate.  For years after, I dabbled in astronomy here and there, but never took it seriously.

It wasn't until 2014, after attaching a camera to the telescope my family gave me for graduating college, that I started my journey in astrophotography.  After a year of practicing the hobby from my backyard in Tucson, AZ, I joined Kitt Peak National Observatory as a public outreach specialist in late 2015.  While there, I was involved with all of the nighttime programs and created astrophotography workshops geared towards today's hobbyists.  I consider myself very lucky to have an opportunity to share my passion with the public in such an amazing setting.  After almost 7 years serving as the Director of Astrophotography, I moved on from the observatory in 2022 to focus on my family and my own personal photography.

I capture many images from two remote observatory with my good friends, Steve Timmons and Greg Turgeon.  I live in Tucson, Arizona with my lovely, supporting wife Katlyn, son Owen and our two dogs.  In "real life," I am the Chief Financial Officer of a rehabilitation hospital in Tucson.
